Short Flight from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando - Blackhawk King Air 200

Picking up the 200 from Fort Lauderdale Executive and flying to Orlando Executive for a demo. Somehow my cockpit camera ISO settings got changed, that's why it is so bright outside from that angle. I recorded 3 legs from this day so unfortunately they all look like that.

Dusk departure out of KCHA to KFXE in a very nice 1977 200 with Blackhawk -52 engines and a full Garmin panel. This aircraft will true out right at 300 knots at altitude and I hit 364 knots ground speed cruising at FL270 with a good tailwind.

Picked up another C90B from Merced CA and flew to San Diego CA then Glendale AZ. My wing camera (which also records the audio) kept overheating until we got airborne so that’s why there's no audio for getting takeoff clearance and switching to departure.

Ferrying a King Air C90B from KMCE Merced CA to KFLL Fort Lauderdale International. This King Air was flown 9.5 hours from Hawaii with an extra fuel bladder before we went to get it in Merced. Originally we filed to fly to ELCAP so we could see Yosemite National Park and avoid the restricted areas but were cleared through them luckily. We ended up staying overnight in Gainesville FL because FLL...

You might notice I ask for clearance to Louisiana initially, the destination was amended to Cherokee County Georgia, KCNI during cruise for a fuel stop since the headwinds decided to be much stronger than forecasted. I added the audio from one of the other cameras to include the engine noise so it isn't dead silent when no one is talking. This is my first time using Final Cut Pro to edit instea...

Flying over Blacksburg and landing RW13
You don't need no stinkin checklist, checklist are for rookies!
I usually cut going through checklists out to make the video shorter. When the camera angle changes is when I make a cut so it looks like it’s a continuous shot. Some of my other videos I didn’t take the extra time to cut it. 🙂
@@Pilot_Dennis very impressive plane and flying. Nice job
great call by student pilot on comms. Not sure what to do, but didn't think they could stabilize on 35R.
Love the videos you should post more
Curious why you didn't have the props full forward before touchdown?
What kind of short field Performance do you get w a Blackhawk 200? Half tanks, standard day, sea level.
I honestly do not know sorry. I’ve only flown it a few times and always long runways.
There's something magical about flying in and out of clouds like that. Absolutely love it. I'm guessing you don't get the chance to record your flights at this gig which is a shame, I really enjoyed the King Air videos, nevertheless though you're living the dream, belated congrats on the type rating! Flying a jet looks like busy work but must be super satisfying. Cheers from Aus
Thank you! I actually can record at this job, and I’m still flying king airs. Life has just gotten in the way and I put the hobby down for a while. I also didn’t fly the bravo from January-April due to various reasons. Hopefully soon I’ll take the extra time to set everything up and make another video.
@@Pilot_Dennis Fair enough mate. Content creation is a lot more labourious than most people give it credit for so I don't blame you at all. Will be waiting patiently!
Really great airplane❤
Nice flight Sir I enjoyed this and have many more Safe Flights Good Luck 2 !! ❤❤😊😊
Beautiful
When is the next video ???
I just stumbled upon your channel. Thanks so much for sharing! Flying KingAirs, Citations, etc, is really where I’d like to end up. What advice do you have for a 500 hour CFI?
Are you an MEI? I would try and get as much multi time as you can. Also, if you live near CAE or FlightSafety you should look into becoming a sim SIC for them. I know once you do 80 sim sessions at CAE (I would assume FSI has the same or similar program) they will give you a “free” PIC type rating. Also, make an account on BizJetJobs they have a low hour section. And a good Facebook group to join is “Corporate Aviation Job Listings”
No MEI yet. But I didn’t know that about FSI. They have an office right at the Salt Lake City airport where I work. I’ll check that out. Thanks for the info! Keep making videos; they’re fun to watch!
Is that the actual sound level ?
Love the Cessna 182 Skylane
Nice work Dennis! I have a lot of King Air videos too. ruclips.net/video/8zNS5XILA6c/видео.htmlsi=tv9SyKgcoaISzke8 If you have not done already, please subscribe to my channel and turn on notifications, so you will not miss any new videos. I have subscribed to your channel of course. Thank you. Happy Landings, Capt. Guido
We’ve worked on that airplane at Yingling Aviation before. The tail number kept sounding really familiar to me, didn’t realize what it was until I looked up a picture. Seems to be in Iceland now
Excellent takeoff and landing a very smooth flight even in the clouds.
I’m trying to follow a similar path here in Houston, just a ways behind you but enjoying the journey. Hope you’ll keep sharing your trips, we love following along!
What was your cargo?
Just me!
dont feel like a dick man, its good training for the student in the cherokee. that was great. she did a great job. im was very impressed. your her idol bro, trust me, i been there, i looked up to you so much, thought you were a god.
Excellent! Major kudos for showing single pilot IFR flying without silly airline callouts. CNI has quite the sloping runway...
. One day I will be able to get on the plane and I will control it by myself
Unless you have long haul missions, what is the utility of this package? How does it impact range? What is useful load with Blackhawk package on B200?
clean the windshield
Cool video, Dennis. I started flying at TDZ in 1970 at 13 years old. Retired from American Airlines in December 2023. Thanks for the memories.
Hi Dennis, like the way you flight king airs. But I wonder why you did not put full rpm before landing in this flight as you usually do in other videos and as I always do. I don't like to see the orange reverse not ready light on final.
In my other videos it should be the same as this one. It’s common practice to land King Airs with the props pulled back at or around the cruise setting. This is normally done for passenger comfort due to the noise with the props full. On a 3-bladed 90 I land at 1900 RPM and 4 blades I land at 2,000. Reason for 2,000 is that a 4-bladed 90 experiences a much bigger blade angle change when you pull to idle and the nose drops from the added drag. 2,000 minimizes this without adding a ton of noise. On a 200 I land at 1,800 rpm.
@@Pilot_Dennis Agree with Pilot Dennis on this. Same applies for non turbines like Baron’s, Bonanza’s, etc. If an engine is happy at a high speed cruise setting and can accept full power at that setting without damaging the engine, just leave it.
Good practice for the student pilot in the Cherokee, all good!
New subscriber, good job. That’s a really nice SII. I flew an old Honeywell equipped one.
Thank you!
Love the sound of those engines, especially when reversing the thrust upon landing!
Congrats for new type rating.
Thank you 👍🏻
Really enjoy all your videos. Unless I missed something you didn’t land at Tulsa….😅
Lol thanks for catching that. The leg after this was to Tulsa wasn’t paying attention when I titled the video. and thanks!
Awesome video!
Nice
Single pilot is busy
Not really, it is a single pilot aircraft after all
I am learning King Air now… what is the best way to get good at flows and remember them in the cockpit? I was thinking to write each flow down on a cue-card
I just learned from doing it in the aircraft since I have access to a lot of king airs. But if you are asking how to prepare outside of the cockpit. Chair flying / going through the checklist steps with a poster/picture of the cockpit in front of you would probably help.
ok thank you @@Pilot_Dennis
Talk about the upgrades to the plane. Good video- audio, thanks
Upgrades but no autopilot
The view from the cockpit at night is something else. Thanks for posting.
Great vid as usual, keep them coming :)
Cool! Next time slow the pan down so we can admire the panel.😊
Just posted an entire video from that flight!
@@Pilot_Dennis Awesome, thanks for your reply. Enjoy the day!
Beautiful King Air❤
Is this real?
No it’s DCS
Is this real sorry to ask
Yes it is
Make a full flight version of this
I have the GoPro footage. Planning on editing it tomorrow
@@Pilot_Dennis thank you bro
No offense, but is this real?
@@ExercitusMaris_EmpireOfCetus just uploaded new vid, still processing though
@@Pilot_Dennis alright
Thank you for the amazing memory. I flew the C90 in the 80's and still one of the finest aircraft.
Looking very nice landing.
Love the video. What do you do that allows you to fly King Airs around? 🤩
Thank you, I ferry them around for my dad’s company
3:25, looks like a Bombardier Sentinel R1, although they were retired by the RAF a few years ago. Wonder what its doing there?
Not sure. Definitely some interesting airplanes at that airport.
Jetran (aircraft leasing company owned by Horseshoe Bay owners) bought and leases them to undisclosed clients.
Great content! Keep it coming! And a fellow lefty!
Thanks! Been a while since I’ve flown a KA and had the extra time to set up the cameras. I’ll try and post a flight soon
Nice job.
Love your videos man! I'm almost done my commercial and I want to fly a king air so baddd!
Out of curiosity is that an Aggie ring you're wearing?
